Housing, far from being a problem confined to large urban areas, also concerns rural territories and small and medium-sized cities. There is a mismatch between the needs of the population and the housing supply, which is scarce and does not adapt to the demands of young population or old population in need of new services.
The European Commission is preparing an Affordable Housing Plan, that should take into account the reality of the different European territories.
In order to better understand how the housing problem is affecting our regions/cities and how they are adapting, the DCRN -Demographic Change Regions Network- is organizing a seminar on how demographic change is affecting housing policies and how our regions/cities are best dealing with it.
