Working groups

Working groups are dedicated platforms set up by the CoR Bureau to advise it in specific areas. They contribute to the CoR’s consultative work by promoting cross-cutting dialogue to ensure the coherence of the CoR’s position across different commissions.

The Green Deal Going Local Working Group provides feedback on numerous green-transition policy areas and supports cities and regions through a set of communication and engagement tools in order to help them reach their green-transition objectives.

The Working Group on Defence brings together local leaders to shape EU defence policy, strengthen cooperation and enhance regional resilience amid growing security challenges.

The Better Regulation and Active Subsidiarity Steering Group (BRASS-G) streamlines the CoR’s governance on better regulation and strategically steers and coordinates the activities carried out using the CoR’s better regulation instruments.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine working groups promote the CoR’s involvement in cooperation and political dialogue between EU local and regional authorities and their counterparts in candidate countries, supporting the latter’s path towards EU accession. The CoR’s work on EU enlargement is also carried out through joint consultative committees (JCCs) with Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
