The 3rd meeting of the NAT Commission will take place on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 May, at in Venice, Italy.

The commission meeting as well as a conference with a field visit are hosted by Roberto Ciambetti (IT/ECR), NAT First Vice President and President of the Regional Council of Veneto.

On day one - 20 May - the conference and field visit to the MOSE are proposed.

The following day, Wednesday 21 May 2025, the NAT Commission will hold its meeting from 09:30 to 13:00 CET in Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Sala Sansoviniana, Piazzetta San Marco, 13/a, .

These meetings will be fully on-site.

  • Vision for agriculture and food

Rapporteur: Joke SCHAUVLIEGE (EPP/BE)

Building on the report of the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of EU Agriculture, and in consultation with the European Board for Agriculture and Food (EBAF), the Vision for Agriculture and Food, setting the direction of travel for the EU’s agri-food policy over the next five years and beyond. It puts a strong focus on boosting competitiveness, reducing dependencies on critical imports and ensuring food security. The opinion outlines the lack of regional dimension in the vision and calls for the regions to play a prominent role in the governance of Strategic Plan to bring policy options into line with specific territorial and sectoral characteristics.

  • Cybersecurity of hospitals and healthcare providers

Rapporteur: Daniela CÎMPEAN (EPP/RO)

The opinion outlines a local and regional position towards the recently published EU action plan to enhance cybersecurity in hospitals and healthcare providers . It emphasises the need for robust measures to protect against escalating cyber threats, highlights the importance of regional and local involvement in designing cybersecurity strategies, and calls for improved cyber hygiene and training within the healthcare sector. Additionally, it sheds light on the connection between health systems, EU digital transition and security concerns.

There will also be a general exploratory debate on Market rules and support measures in the wine sector

As the wine sector is facing several challenges like shifting consumer trends, climate change and market uncertainties, the European Commission proposed a range of measures to ensure Europe's wine sector remains competitive, resilient, and a vital economic force in the decades to come.
