The 2nd CIVEX commission meeting will take place on 7 March 2025 from 11:00 to 17:30 at the European Committee of the Regions, Rue Belliard 99-101, room JDE 52.

This meeting will be fully on-site. The public will be able follow the meeting via the web-streaming player below.

The agenda includes the discussion and vote of three opinions:  

  1. The local and regional perspective in the implementation of the Rule of Law in the European Union by rapporteur Stephen De Ron (LU/Greens)
  2. Enlargement package 2024 – Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia by rapporteur Aleksandra Dulkiewicz (PL/EPP)
  3. Enlargement package 2024 - Western Balkans and Türkiye by rapporteur Jean-Luc Vanraes (BE/Renew Europe)

In the morning, a partnership agreement between the CoR and U-LEAD will be signed as regards the Training and Internship Programme Support for Ukrainian Municipalities and Inter-Municipal Cooperation (TIPS4UA).

During the afternoon, we will have a debate on the state of play of EU enlargement policy with Nacho Sánchez Amor (ES/S&D), Member of the European Parliament, Standing Rapporteur for Türkiye, Paweł Łącki, Chair of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU and Alexandra Pana, Team Leader – Enlargement Coordination, European Commission, Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST).

In addition, there will be a Discussion with the European Commission in advance of publication of the new Internal Security Strategy.
