RegHub Workshop in Brussels

The Network of Regional Hubs held its annual workshop in Brussels on 17 October 2024.

In the morning, the Hubs took part in the 9th and final plenary meeting of the European Commission's Fit For Future Platform. During the meeting, the Platform opinions on the Evaluation of the European Social Fund (ESF+), with Anne Karjalainen (PES/FI) as rapporteur, and the Evaluation of the European Regional Development Fund, Just Transition Fund and Cohesion Fund, with Dr. Mark Speich (EPP/DE) as rapporteur, and to which the Hubs contributed, were adopted.

In the afternoon, the workshop itself kicked off with a discussion on better regulation and competitiveness in the next EU mandate, followed by a panel debate on effective feedback loops to provide local and regional 'user experience' of EU policies, and an in-depth overview of ongoing and past consultations, before concluding with a detailed session on a possible  collaboration with  DG GROW on the evaluation and review of the EU's public procurement rules.

The CoR and RegHub are grateful for the networking event kindly hosted by the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano-South Tyrol Liaison Office Brussels, which was attended by the Hubs in the evening.
