Commission for Economic Policy (ECON)

The remit of the Commission for Economic Policy covers the following fields:     

  • Industrial Policy
  • SME policy
  • Economic and Monetary Policy
  • Economic Governance, European Semester
  • Internal market
  • International Trade and Tariffs
  • Public procurement, Competition and State aid policy     

The ECON surveys, studies and analyses​ and the European Entrepreneurial Regions (EER) help ECON members monitor current trends and challenges and identify good policy practices.

The high level multi-stakeholder platform on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) supports and advises the European Commission on the implementation of SDGs. It allows the CoR to build a common language with all other stakeholders and propose recommendations for a sustainable EU. The input of the CoR is coordinated by the ECON Commission.
