At this meeting, the COTER Commission will hold a joint meeting with the European Parliament's REGI Committee members, to discuss the future of cohesion policy post 2027 and the cooperation between the two bodies.
COTER members will also exchange views on the opinion on "Metropolitan regions and functional urban areas as socio-economic drivers of sustainable investment in the 2020-2027 Cohesion policy framework" by rapporteur Carmine PACENTE (IT/renew E.). This opinion will look into the future of the Interreg programme, which has been developing cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation over the past thirty years.
The COTER members will also have the opportunity engage in debates on annual impact of the legislative work, the work programme for 2025 and the achievements under the current term (2020-2024) which comes to an end with this COTER Commission meeting.
