With the support of the Film Festival della Lessinia, the event will feature the screening of the documentary Marmolada 03.07.22, directed by Giorgia Lorenzato and Manuel Zarpellon, with English subtitles. The documentary offers a gripping, hour-by-hour account of the tragic collapse of the Marmolada glacier on 3 July 2022. It presents the perspectives of those involved in the emergency response, using interviews with authorities, mountain guides, eyewitnesses, and survivors. The narrative reflects the effects of climate change on alpine landscapes while highlighting the dedication and professionalism of the mountain rescue teams.

The event has been organised within the framework of the Brussels Mountain Film Festival – Brussels on the Rocks, a joint initiative by the Veneto Region Brussels Office and the Liaison Office Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano – South Tyrol. The festival aims to highlight key issues affecting European mountain areas: from climate change and environmental challenges to the presence of large predators and the daily life of local communities.

Each edition presents a film or documentary from a different European region, followed by a discussion with the audience. This format seeks to raise awareness and foster dialogue on sustainable mountain development, human coexistence with nature, and the challenges faced by alpine communities. The festival's objective is to stimulate understanding and action in support of these territories.
