External meeting of the Berlin Senate

​​The Senate of Berlin, chaired by Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey, is holding an external meeting hosted by the CoR on December 6th 2022. 

In particular, the Senate of Berlin will have an exchange with Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson on the consequences of Russia's war in Ukraine on migration. The Senate of Berlin will also discuss the current state of play with regard to the reform of the Common European Asylum System. With Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit the Senate of Berlin will discuss the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights and i. a. the housing first concept. Acting General Director DG CLIMA Clara de la Torre will present the measures planned on climate protection with special reference to the role that cities can play.
