The eighth meeting of the Commission for Sustainable Territorial Development of the Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) took place on Monday, 7 February 2022 at Parc Chanot in Marseille, France, in a hybrid format. It took place within the framework of the
Mediterranean Worlds Forum organised on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 February by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region (South Region) and the French Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs.
This ARLEM Commission meeting provided an excellent opportunity to take part in the Forum's fruitful exchanges, which complement the work of ARLEM, in particular on youth in the context of the European Year of Youth 2022 and on climate change ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) at the end of 2022. The aim of the meeting, to maintain and strengthen Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation to meet common challenges through dialogue between local and regional authorities, experts and representatives of civil society, was successfully met.
