On 27 September 2018, the ENVE commission hold its 20th meeting in Brussels.
On this occasion, a statement and exchange of views with Mr Daniel Calleja Crespo opened the meeting. An explanatory debate followed on:
• Opinion on the Proposal for a single-use plastics directive – Rapporteur Sirpa HERTELL (FI/EPP);
• Opinion on the proposal for a Regulation establishing a Programme for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) and repealing Regulation (EU) No 293/2013 [Rapporteur: Marco DUS (IT/PES).
During the afternoon session, ENVE members discussed and adopted the Opinion on Models of local energy ownership and the role of local energy communities in energy transition in Europe – Rapporteur Mariana GÂJU (RO/PES).
It followed a statement and exchange of views with Mr Eero AILIO on the future of the Covenant of Mayors.
The meeting ended with an exchange of views on the Proposal for a Regulation on minimum requirements for water reuse – Rapporteur Oldřich VLASÁK (CZ/ECR) and on the Proposal for a Regulation establishing the space programme of the Union and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme and repealing Regulations [Rapporteur: Andres JAADLA (EE/ALDE)].
