CoR representative in the Fit for Future Platform, Michiel Rijsberman (Renew/NL), has been appointed rapporteur for the Platform's opinion on the revision of Regulation (EU) 2021/694 establishing the Digital Europe Programme.
2023 is the third year of the Programme's implementation, so the Commission has sufficient information to carry out an interim evaluation. This interim evaluation will, inter alia, serve as a basis for adjusting the implementation of the Programme, also taking into account new relevant technological developments. The Platform's opinion can contribute to this evaluation by providing detailed first-hand feedback from stakeholders using the opportunities of the Programme, including local and regional authorities, which could serve as an opportunity to identify ways to accelerate take-up while reducing the administrative burden for beneficiaries.
In 2023, RegHub will conduct a stakeholder consultation on this topic, feeding into the Platform's opinion. The adoption of the opinion is planned for Q4 2023.
