Unlike previous years, this year we had a fully virtual open day at the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). We could not open our doors as expected, but we did everything within our reach to provide you with a good overview of who we are and what we do.

Regions and cities against COVID-19
As the voice of European regions and cities, the CoR is at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus since its outbreak in Europe and subsequent countries lockdown early March. The CoR is fully involved in helping to shape the EU's response to the pandemic.
Explore our
Covid-19 exchange platform and see how your city/region/country is contributing to Europe's efforts to stop the virus.
Also worthy of note, a declaration on COVID-19 Response was adopted by the CoR on 8 May.
Virus does not stop democracy - CoR at work
Despite the sudden coronavirus disruption, the CoR continues doing its best to bring Europe to the EU citizens.
See how we are doing this by watching our ANIMATION video.
The CoR is the voice of regions and cities in the European Union (EU) and it was created in 1994 – meaning
it's 25 year-old (or -young!) – to advise the EU on new laws that have an impact on regions and cities (70% of all legislation).
Our members at your service
Our members are your mayors or the presidents of the regions you come from. They've been elected at local or regional level and work to bridge the gap between EU citizens and the EU institutions. They bring citizens' concerns to the political table, debate legislation in
plenary sessions and influence the EU decision making-process.

"What does Europe represent for me" video series.
