22nd ENVE Commission Meeting  

On 28 January 2019, the ENVE commission holds its 22nd meeting in Brussels. On this occasion, ENVE will have an exchange of views on the opinion on "Multilevel governance and cross-sectoral cooperation to fight energy poverty" drafted by Kata TÜTTŐ (HU/PES), Representative of Local Government of District 12 of Budapest and on the opinion "A Clean Planet for all A European strategic long-term vision for a prosperous, modern, competitive and climate neutral economy" drafted by Michele EMILIANO (IT/PES), President of the Puglia Region. Raffaele PETRICCIONE Director-General of DG CLIMA of the European Commission will intervene.

 

During the afternoon session, ENVE members will discuss the Follow-up to the CoR participation in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP24. A statement by Adina-Ioana VĂLEAN (tbc), Chair of the EP ENVI Committee (tbc) is foreseen.

 

Bryan SYNNOTT, member of the Cabinet of Commissioner for Environment Karmenu Vella, will speak about the Green Week 2019 and the potential role of local and regional authorities.

 

Finally ENVE members will discuss the Follow-up to the CoR participation in the United Nations Convention on Biological diversity (UN CBD) COP14 with an intervention of the Rapporteur for the connected opinion, Roby BIWER (LU/PES), Member of Bettembourg Municipal Council.
