Evidence-based policies for sustainable housing and urban development in Europe and beyond  

The conference is organised by  the UNECE Committee on Housing and Land Management, in collaboration with UN-Habitat and is hosted by the European Committee of the Regions.

The objective of the event is to discuss the role of evidence in crafting sustainable housing and urban development policies in the European Union and the UNECE region. The discussion will especially focus on approaches to data collection and management in the context of the SDG11 in the EU and the UNECE region.

During the event, a range of issues will be debated: policy frameworks, methodologies and tools for implementation of sustainable housing policies and SDG 11 "Sustainable cities and communities"; policy indicators for sustainable housing and urban development  at international, regional and local levels; roles of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodologies in policy monitoring; types of evidence  for sustainable housing policies and many others; 'Better regulation' and 'Better knowledge' in Urban Agenda and many others.
