The CoR's Working Group on Ukraine will meet on 23 May 2022 in an extended format, including the presidents of the political groups. This high-level discussion will focus primarily on reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and regions, now and in the aftermath of the war.
After discussing the overall political context with MEP Viola VON CRAMON-TAUBADEL (Greens/DE) and Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, Ambassador Vsevolod CHENTSOV, the members will debate immediate and future needs in regional development and reconstruction in Ukraine in the first thematic session. Representatives of the Ukrainian ministry of Communities and Territories Development, regional and cities' associations will deliver their testimonials. In the second thematic session, the members will look closer at the EU contribution to the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and regions, debating, among others, with the representatives of the European Investment Bank, the Czech presidency of the European Council, DG NEAR.
