The CIVEX commission will be holding its 22nd meeting on 25th January 2019 on the Committee of the Regions premises in Brussels.
The meeting will include an exploratory debate for the opinion on the Proposal for a Regulation on the European Border and Coast Guard, for which rapporteur general is Anna Magyar (HU/EPP). The presentation of the draft Subsidiarity Work Programme for 2019 is also on the agenda, as well as an important thematic debate on "Democracy and fundamental values: are local and regional authorities up to the challenge?" during which participation of two distinguished external speakers is expected : Corina Stratulat from the European Policy Centre, Brussels, and Prof. Dimitry Kochenov from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
