About the Summer Camps
As a result of the joint efforts of the European Committee of the Regions, its Members and Association of Ukrainian cities, 2022 saw over 1250 children being welcomed in diverse cities and regions of the European Union. In 2023 the initiative has been twice as successful. Thanks to the great contribution of the European cities and regions, more than 3000 Ukrainian children had an opportunity to spend summer holidays in cities and regions of the European Union.
Summer Camps for Ukrainian children 2023
The tangible benefits of the summer camps initiative and its success in terms of numbers have demonstrated once more the relevance of this project in the context of the common effort to sustain Ukraine and its people.
With a view of promoting the well-being of the most vulnerable ones and creating a sense of normality, stability, and hope that could help Ukrainian children recover from the effects of the war, the European Committee of the Regions together with the Association of Ukrainian cities are committed to promote this initiative by:
- engaging and connecting cities and regions of the European Union;
- organizing informative and capacity-building sessions;
- bringing together relevant stakeholders and experts in the field for supporting local and regional authorities in their work.
More information about the summer camps can be found in the concept note (in all languages) and the FAQs.
