​​​​​​This coming spring the Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor EGTC celebrates its fifth anniversary and on that occasion, the second Rhine-Alpine Corridor Conference will take place on 19 June 2020 in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor EGTC is a successful example of cross border cooperation in a very large area, along the TEN-T Core Network Corridor between Rotterdam/Antwerp and Genoa.

Starting with 10 founding members, the EGTC has grown to 25 members over the past five years. The members are regions and provinces, cities and large ports from six EU Member States along the Rhine-Alpine Corridor. The EGTC operates also as lead partner or a partner in several EU-funded projects.

The choice of the legal form "EGTC" has proven to be the best solution for such interregional cooperation. That is why the Interregional Alliance now intends to inform others interested in cooperation on a larger scale, such as other European corridors, about the benefits of EGTC as a legal form for interregional cooperation.
