The Mediterranean leading the way

The Final Event of the Interreg Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community project (MBPC) will be used, in terms of contents and timing, as an opportunity to showcase the community's results and nature-based solutions, and ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation. Debating these achievements with policymakers and practitioners will foster concrete transferable conservation actions into EU territorial, marine and coastal policies. The last day will focus on setting action-oriented priorities moving beyond 2022 and on how to mainstream biodiversity conservation into marine and maritime policies, with one session organized in the frame of the Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas Intergroup (SEARICA) of the European Parliament.

The event is co-organised by the European Topic Centre of Universidad de Málaga, MedCities, the Intermediterranean Commission of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (IMC-CPMR), the UN Plan Bleu for the Environment and Development in the Mediterranean, Latte Creative, the Ministry of Ecology of Montenegro and the Marine Institute (Croatia).
