Why should young people be involved in democratic life? How to boost their participation? How to ensure youth voices are heard in decisions shaping our cities and regions? A discussion between young politicians and members of civil society to share best practices and examples of the added value of youth participation.
The CoR and the European Youth Forum are working together to draft a Youth Charter for Democracy. To fulfil its goal to empower and include young people in decision-making, the proposals for the charter are being collected through participatory processes to allow young people to express their ideas and debate with local and regional representatives. This session will look at how to enact their recommendations and anchor them in the democratic process at all levels of governance. After initial input from speakers, the floor will be open for participants to react and share their experiences on the topic.
