​Your job and responsibilities

Are you interested in figures and helping your clients? Do you want to contribute to managing our members' financial files and to providing the logistical services through which the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) helps those members to carry out their work and activities? If so, this vacancy notice may be a good fit for you!

We want to bolster our financial services sector by recruiting an administrator able to become part of the unit quickly, to take up the duties of deputy head of unit and lead a team of five financial managers and two authorising officers, and to demonstrate creativity, accuracy and rigour in the financial management of the files. The chosen person will also be the main authorising officer for all the directorate's budgetary headings.

Being a member of the financial services sector assisting CoR members also requires a high level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality and strong listening and diplomatic skills, when dealing with the members of the CoR and all of its staff.

Are you the talent we are looking for?


•    You preferably have a university degree in economics or accounting;
•    You have at least five years' relevant professional experience in financial and/or budgetary management in the European institutions;
•    Experience or knowledge of airline ticketing would be a major asset;
•    You have proven experience of managing a team and are able to assist the head of unit with the daily management of the unit or to replace the head of unit should they be absent or unavailable;
•    You are able to quickly assimilate internal decisions and rules and check that they are correctly applied, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
•    You have excellent written and oral analysis and communication skills, with a view to smooth communication with Committee members;
•    You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and at least a satisfactory knowledge of another of the EU's official languages. For functional reasons, a very good command of French and/or English is required;
•    You have a good command of IT applications and tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.) and the ABAC financial management system;
•    You are able to work independently and also as part of a team, with attention to detail, and are able to cope with a heavy workload from time to time, delivering high-quality work on time;
•    You are able to work in an international and multicultural environment and easily adapt to different situations and changes in the tasks to be performed.
