The 20th COTER commission meeting will take place on Tuesday 26 September 2023, where the COTER members will discuss three opinions, starting with discussion and vote on the opinion "the future of cohesion policy post-2027", prepared by the President of the CoR, Vasco Alves Cordeiro (PT/PES) and Chair of the COTER Commission, Emil Boc (RO/EPP) who are presenting this opinion as co-rapporteurs.
The following discussion and vote will be on the opinion "boosting lasting and effective cross-border cooperation with our neighbours" drafted by rapporteur Marie-Antoinette Maupertuis (FR/EA), focusing on EU regions' cooperation with neighbouring regions and countries.
Members will then debate the opinion on the "review and proposal for the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-27", prepared by rapporteur general José Manuel Ribeiro (PT/PES), which is scheduled for adoption at the CoR Plenary on 10-11 October 2023.
Besides the debates on the abovementioned opinions, the COTER members will also have the opportunity to discuss the Maritime Safety Package and Cohesion Policy's successes on the ground with representatives of the European Commission. Finally, members will be informed about the Joint Research Centre's (JRC) new publication "Policy Atlas of Sustainable Urban Development for Small Urban Areas".
