It is time to speak - Climate-neutral Rakvere 2050  
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The battle against climate change and environmental damage is an urgent issue for the European Union and
across the globe. To achieve a better world for us all, we need a strategy where Europe can continue leading the world on a path to sustainability and climate neutrality.

The EU Green Deal is the EU growth strategy for all cities that to transform the European Union into a modern, climate neutral, resource-efficient and competitive economy.

How can local governments in Estonia,cities and small local governments of the size of Rakvere get involved in the implementation of the European Green Deal and the implementation of the goal "Climate-neutral Rakvere 2050"?

In this inclusive and participative event, all citizens have a say on what our future European Union should look like.
We will discuss about

  • The preparation and development of the Rakvere Climate and Energy Plan
  • The European Green Deal and its implementation at local level
  • Climate and environmental aspirations of Estonian municipalities in rural areas — examples of Järva municipality
  • ​Action by local authorities to highlight the environmental performance of citizens. The initiative of the 'Blue Green Engine'
  • Communication on the European Covenant of Mayors and preparation of energy plans by the Estonian authorities on the Estonian Cities and Valdade Association. Examples of Viims Municipality
