The European Commission has recently published its 2022 Competition Policy Report. In the context of the turbulent times in which the EU celebrates the 30th anniversary of its Single Market, the Report on Competition policy, published annually, provides detailed information on the most important policy and legislative initiatives, and on decisions adopted by the European Commission in application of EU competition law in 2022.
Given the relevance of competition policy for local and regional authorities, the CoR is preparing an opinion on the Report. The opinion is scheduled for adoption at the ECON Commission meeting of 18/19 October 2023 and at the Plenary Session of 29/30 November 2023.
This consultation is aimed at providing the rapporteur, Antonio Mazzeo (IT/PES), with comments and suggestions. It is open to representatives of local and regional authorities and their stakeholder associations. Experts, officials of EU institutions and think tanks are also invited to contribute.
A working document will be available shortly before the meeting.
