Sixty municipalities
from the Emilia Romagna region, signatories of the SECAP (Sustainable Energy
and Climate Action Plan) will attend the Covenant of Mayors Signing Ceremony
for the commitment to reduce CO2 emissions by forty percent by 2030.
The event is
organised by AESS (Agenzia per l’Energia e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile) in close
cooperation with the Emilia Romagna Region. The objective is to engage
representatives from Emilia Romagna Local Authorities (mayors, councillors and
decision makers) in committing their cities in the medium-long term period in
the Covenant initiative and increase their engagement in the CoM activities.
The session
is a unique opportunity to network with the Covenant of Mayors Office in
Brussels (COMo). The programme includes the "How to finance climate
action" event, and the presentation of the new European "CITY
facility" financing instrument that will be activated by the end of the
year.
