Smart, green and resilient cities and communities: EU Mayors meet the European Commission  

European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton will meet with mayors from the Living-in.EU initiative to discuss green and digital transformation and the socio-economic resilience of European cities and communities.

The event will be organized in a hybrid form, where the Mayors, elected regional leads and organisers will meet in Brussels while participants of the event can follow the discussion via a web stream. Streaming will be available in English and French.

Participants do not need to register, and can join the stream directly through these web links: English and French.  

The streaming will kick off at 14:30 CET with a dialogue between Commissioner Breton and EU Mayors. Following the opening address and welcoming video messages the Mayors will discuss two topics:
Panel 1: Planning and implementing the green and digital transition of the local economy and society (at 14:50 CET)

Panel 2: Digital strategy, Data strategy, Digital decade accelerating the digital transformation at local level, digital as an enabler for green transition (at 15:38 CET).

Two CoR members - Peter Kurz, Mayor of Mannheim, and Kata Tüttő, Deputy Mayor of Budapest – are among the panellists.
