The
European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the
European Commission DG EMPL are co-organising a joint event to take place in the framework of the
European Week of Regions and Cities as a side event, entitled
''What can Cities and Regions do for up and reskilling with the Pact for Skills?'', on Wednesday 14 October 2021 from 14:30 until 16:00 CET.
In this interactive on-line info session, regional and local speakers will seek to inspire other regions and cities’ stakeholders to engage and join the Pact for Skills. The event will showcase the benefits regions and cities can have by joining forces and financial resources, together committing to up and reskilling actions and gaining European-level visibility by becoming members of the Pact for Skills.
Regions and cities which are part of the Pact will present their experience and elaborate on their up and reskilling actions that can act as inspiration to others, with the ultimate aim of encouraging more stakeholders to get involved in the initiative.
Regions and cities can become members of the Pact for Skills, create regional or local skills partnerships and commit to concrete reskilling and upskilling actions with measureable impact. They can also facilitate the development of skills projects or actions in ESF+ Operational Programmes at regional level and engage with the Managing Authorities of their area in order to encourage them to dedicate additional/targeted resources to skills, now that ESF+ programming is starting.
The session will consist of
roundtable discussions and Q&A with the audience.
