On 7th and 8th March 2022, several
CoR members will participate in the Climate Chance Summit in Nantes,
organized by the Climate Chance Alliance in collaboration with the French
Ministry of Ecology. It will be held in synergy with the framework of the
European Climate Conference organized by the French Presidency of the
Council of the European Union .
This is the first major on-site climate summit since the COP26 in Glasgow
last year. It will bring together many high level guests, including
Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, Alok Sharma,
President of the COP26, and Yasmine Fouad, Egyptian Minister of Environment
and Special Envoy to COP27.
On the 8th of March and in the framework of the International
Women's Day, the CoR will host an event on 'Gender-inclusive European Green
Deal and EU Climate Policies'. The event will bring together EU, national
and local stakeholders to discuss the links between gender and climate
change and how Local and regional authorities (LRAs) are best placed to
integrate social issues with climate action.
