External meeting of the Council of Ministers of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate

An external meeting of the Council of Ministers of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate will take place in Brussels on 6 September 2022 at the European Committee of the Regions, Jacques Delors building.

The overarching theme for this external cabinet meeting is the European Green Deal with its chances and challenges for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

With it, the European Commission has set the goal to transition to a modern, resource efficient and globally competitive economy.

With the war of aggression waged on the Ukraine, however, pivotal aspects of this Green Deal have to be re-evaluated with regard to looming energy shortages, existing dependencies and substantial constraints on supply chains.

Frans Timmermans, EU Commissioner for the European Green Deal
