In a recent decision taken on 15th of February 2019, the German Bundesrat welcomes the setting up of the Regional Hubs Initiative of the European Committee of the Regions: The Bundesrat notes with interest the initiative of the Task Force and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) to set up so-called regional hubs, which should incorporate the experiences of local and regional authorities more effectively in EU policies. It welcomed the co-ordination of the tasks of the CoR and will closely monitor the lessons learned from the pilot phase.
Brandenburg and North Rhine Westphalia are part of the core group of the RegHub Network, while Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are associated via the International Lake Constance Conference (IBK).
