Green Transition in the Region of Attica: what comes next?  

​​​​​The Region of Attica is in the middle of a huge effort to shift from traditional waste management practices to the circular economy framework. The session will discuss the drivers and the barriers for this shift, the experiences gained as well as lessons learnt from national and European utilisation.

The event will be attended by Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, President, European Committee of the Regions and Governor of Central Macedonia, HE Mr. Ioannis Vrailas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary — Permanent Representative of Greece to the EU, Mr. Vaggelis Meimarakis, MEP, Vice President of the EPP group, Dr. George Patoulis, Head of the Greek Delegation to the CoR, Regional Governor of Attica, Mr. Arne Ragossnig, Vice President of ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), Mr. Patrick Dorvil, Senior Sector Economist, European Investment Bank.

Moderator: Mr. Giannis Politis, Journalist.

The event will include a presentation of a video including the activities and good practices of the Region of Attica in terms of Circular Economy and Green Transition.

Interpretation in English and Greek will be availble for this fully online event.
