Europe unfolds in Transylvania - building on democracy, education and youth

The European Summit of Regions and Cities in Marseille (March 2022) launched the Marseille Manifesto of local and regional leaders and ignited the co-creation for a European Charter on Youth and Democracy.

It is time to continue inviting citizens, public authorities, businesses and NGOs to have a say in shaping their future.

With a unique demography in Europe (one out of four inhabitants being under 35 years old), a collaborative environment (local authorities, business, universities, active citizens involvement), Cluj has become witness on how the European Union can have an impact on the development of local and regional communities. The Cluj Innovation and Civic Imagination Centre has already addressed topics of relevance at the local level, such as employment, education, youth empowerment, culture, sports, or the best way to achive digital transformation. A pool of ideas thus awaits the opportunity to be brought forward to the level of policy makers and political leaders.

The local dialogue is organised by Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, CoR Member, in collaboration with the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the local support of Europe Direct Cluj and Romanian Association of Municipalities. Nicolae Ionel Ciucă, Prime Minister of Romania and Apostolos Tzitzikostas, President of the European Committee of the Regions are invited to take part in the panel discussion.

Registration for on-site participation is now closed, registered participants will receive an e-mail confirmation.

The local dialogue is streamed, please follow the stream below or via FB live.
