EURegionsWeek sets new record  

With more than 6000 registered participants, 800 speakers and more than 300 partners, the European Week of Regions and Cities jointly organized by the European Commission’s Regional and Urban Policy DG and the European Committee of the Regions, beats the record as the biggest edition so far.

The four day event (8-11 October) was officially opened by President Juncker of the European Commission, President Lambertz of the European Committee of the Regions, Commissioner Crețu of the European Commission and Vice-President Telička of the European Parliament.

Throughout the week, participants were able to choose from more than 200 working sessions, on topics such as territorial development, the future of the cohesion policy, education, climate and social inclusion. Among the highlights of the week, were the #SOTREG speech of President Lambertz and the RegioStars awards.

The main venue of the event this year was the Square convention centre. Other interesting sessions also took place at the Regional offices premises, the European Committee of the Regions and the European Parliament.
