At their meeting on 28 and 29 January in Brussels, the presidents of the German speaking regional parliaments welcomed the recommendations of the Task Force Subsidiarity and the proposals in the recent Communication of the Commission on The Principles of subsidiarity and proportionality: Strengthening their role in EU policymaking.

In a joint declaration, the Presidents stated that they particularly welcomed the efforts made to better engage the regional level in the preparation and the assessment of EU legislation.
