Łódź Climate Summit

Climate change knows no administrative boundaries. It is necessary to develop network of synergistic connections to counteract the negative effects of these changes. We created a space for mutual exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas between representatives of the world of politics, science, business and non-governmental organizations - the Lodz Climate Summit. 1st edition in 2022, attended by several hundred participants, made it possible to diagnose the current environmental and political situation in the context of climate change.

The war in Ukraine and the ensuing energy crisis mean that activities related to the energy transformation must be intensified. It is necessary to choose the most innovative and prospective solutions for local government energy, thermal energy and thermal modernization. Problems related to the fossil fuel market also mean that the public transport system must undergo a rapid transformation. On the one hand, we should strive to make it zero-emission, on the other hand, we should answer the question of how to cheaply power such modern rolling stock, and also convince the inhabitants of European cities to use it and, above all, to co-create it. By empowering citizens and providing them with the necessary tools and resources, we can work together towards a more sustainable and secure future for current and next generations.

To promote the pillars of today's innovation as widely as possible, Łódź organize the 2nd edition of the Łódź Climate Summit, on May 18-19, in co-operation with the Union of Polish Metropolises. The purpose of the event is to remind people of the current climate situation and provide concrete tools in the areas discussed.

The Guest of Honor and keynote speakers will be Frans Timmermans, EVP for the European Green Deal. For all the audience this will be an excellent occasion to get familiar with European Commission's approach to tackling the problem of climate change.
