Stakeholder Consultation on the CoR opinion "The future of cohesion policy post 2027"

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is in the process of drafting an own-initiative opinion on the future of cohesion policy post 2027. The co-rapporteurs for this opinion, Mr Alves Cordeiro (PT/PES), Member of the Parliament of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and Mr Boc (RO/EPP), Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, together with his expert Mr Hintea, would be pleased to meet representatives of local and regional authorities and other relevant stakeholders for a consultation and exchange of views on the relevant topics of this opinion.

With the publication of the 8th Cohesion Report and the setting up of a Group of High-level experts on Cohesion Policy, the debate on the future of Cohesion policy has begun. The CoR will be the first EU institution to adopt an official position on cohesion policy post 2027. The draft opinion will be adopted at the meeting of the COTER Commission on 26 September 2023 and at the CoR Plenary on 29-30 November 2023.

You can already access the working document of the co-rapporteurs on the CoR website; it will be the basis of the opinion and the discussion. The exchange will be interactive and primarily focused on stakeholder's input and presentation of their views on the subject.

Participation will be possible either in person at the Committee of the Regions (CoR), 101 rue Belliard, 1040 Brussels, room JDE 52, or online via Microsoft Teams (the link to access the meeting will be sent to all registered participants a few days before the meeting). The meeting will be held in English.

Please note that the CoR does not cover expenses and does not provide any allowance for attending in person or online.

Please note that the co-rapporteurs would also be grateful to receive written contributions: if you wish, please send your input to the COTER secretariat at coter@cor.europa.eu

Please note the new timing for this meeting: from 11.30 to 13.30.

Deadline to send contributions / deadline to register: 11 July 2023 10.00 Brussels's time. You can register here.
