Members of
the Young Elected Politician Programme are invited to an online training
session on 14 June, from 12.00 to 14.00 Brussels time to discuss youth issues, notably
their engagement for democracy.
The event
will start with a presentation of the European Year of Youth by Biliana
Sirakova, EU Youth coordinator. Tine Radinja (SI/Greens), CoR member and
rapporteur on youth, will present his ongoing
opinion The Future of Youth Policy in the EU.
YEP Alumni
will then introduce four areas of youth engagement, showcasing best practices
from their cities and regions before opening the floor to exchanges with the
participants.
The four fields
to be discussed are:
- Youth
councils/parliaments
- Schools
and education
- Digital
tools and youth participation
- Dialogues
with citizens
The session
will be moderated by CoR Deputy-Director of Communication, Wolfgang Petzold.
