​​​On 11 May, the European Commission has decided to increase the role of the Committee of the Regions in its new Fit for Future Platform (part of the REFIT programme) and recognised RegHub as a valuable CoR tool for the work of the Platform.

The Fit for Future Platform is a high-level expert group, which will help the Commission to simplify existing EU laws, reduce administrative burden for citizens and businesses, and ensure EU legislation remains future-proof. The CoR will have three representatives in the Government Group of the Platform and will be allowed to invite RegHub representatives at Platform meetings in agreement with the Commission. The CoR and RegHub will also be able to contribute to the Platform's annual work programme.

It is a major step forward for RegHub and an important recognition of its achievements during its pilot phase.
