Secretary General speaks at Virtual Alpine Observatory Event  
On invitation of Ulrike Scharf, Bavarian Minister of State for Environment and Consumer Protection, the Secretary General addressed 150 high-ranking representatives from politics, industry, research and environmental protection who met in Brussels on 29 June 2017 to discuss possible action to fight climate change.



At this occasion the German Aerospace Center presented the "Virtual Alpine Observatory" (VAO) a European network of public alpine high-altitude research stations working together to better use synergies in climate and environmental observation. The Secretary General presented the possibilities for the VAO to use various European funding and to set up an EGTC. He also informed about the Committee's activities in the area of European cohesion policy and the fight against climate change.
