Out of 80 nominations put forward by national and regional EWWR coordinators from all across Europe and beyond, 16 actions have been shortlisted by a jury composed of six environmental experts and practitioners working with different aspects of environmental sustainability. Amongst them is the member of the European Committee of the Regions and Deputy-Mayor of Budapest Kata TÜTTŐ.

The 16 finalists come from ten different countries: Greece, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Germany, France, Monaco, Italy, The Netherlands and Turkey. These are the award categories:

  • public administrations and organisations;

The jury also selected the winner of the European Special Prize, which rewards the action that best exemplifies the European spirit of cooperation towards waste prevention.

The jury's selection is based on the following criteria:

  • communication and visibility;
  • the quality of the content;
  • originality;
  • the impact of the action.
