The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is organizing, together with the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU and Moravian-Silesian, Ústí and Karlovy Vary Regions, a high-level conference on "Just Transition in Coal and Energy Intensive Regions". The event will take place on 22 November 2022 at the premises of the CoR from 15h to 18h, following meeting of Ministers at the General Affairs Council dedicated to Cohesion which takes place on the same day in the morning.
Building on the work already accomplished in the field of Just Transition, the event will be an opportunity to discuss with the Presidency on the results of the General Affairs Council. Furthermore, it continues the dialogue between all levels of governance and outlines the way forward for coal and energy intensive regions, showcasing good practices from the Czech Republic and underlining the important role of local and regional authorities in the process.
