Invitation to the stakeholder-consultation about "European Year of Skills 2023"

In the frame of the ongoing European Year of Skills 2023 , a new European mentoring strategy would be a valuable and necessary addition to reach the European Commission's aim of increasing employment and creating more quality jobs. Mentoring serves as a multi-faceted tool to foster lifelong learning, manage the green and digital transition, and increase the quality of education. Moreover, a vibrant, effective and sustainable mentoring network can support not only vulnerable groups of society, but also start-ups and established small and medium enterprises locally, helping them to survive and grow.

To discuss the state of the art, challenges ahead and the role of local and regional actors in promoting and establishing mentoring structures, the European Committee of the Regions is drafting the own-initiative opinion on "Mentoring: a powerful and meaningful tool for the Europe of tomorrow".

Rapporteur for this opinion Mrs. Anne Rudishuli (FR/Renew), member of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council, has the pleasure to invite relevant actors to the stakeholder-consultation on 25th May 2023 at 15H CET until 17H CET, in Brussels at the Committee of the Regions.

The number of participants will be limited.
