The state of European regions and cities and the views of politicians and citizens on Europe’s future
On 12 October, the European Committee for the Regions (CoR) will publish its second “Regional and local Barometer” report on the state of European regions and cities and the views of local politicians and citizens on the future of Europe.
The main findings to be presented are:
  • the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • economic and social policies;
  • public finances;
  • programming of the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Fund and cohesion policy funds;
  • local aspects of climate change and adaptation.

Additionally, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) will share the results of a survey conducted across seven European countries (Germany, France, Italy, Romania, Sweden, Poland and Ukraine). It will shed light on the shifting social, economic and political priorities of Europeans as they look beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, with a view to the Conference on the Future of Europe, we will reveal an insight from the CoR’s first-ever representative survey among politicians elected at local and regional level.
