Dear Stakeholders,

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is preparing two opinions on the upcoming COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt).

The CoR Rapporteurs are Alison GILLILAND (IE/PES), Lord Mayor of Dublin and Member of the Commission for the Environment, Climate change and Energy (ENVE) of the CoR and Olgierd GEBLEWICZ (PL/EPP), President of West Pomerania Region and Member of the Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX). The adoption of both opinions is foreseen for the CoR Plenary Session of 12-13 October 2022.

The rapporteurs strive for the highest possible quality input: to this purpose we are organising a Stakeholder Consultation on COP27 where all relevant stakeholders will be invited to put forward their views on the role of multilevel governance in the implementation of the Glasgow Climate Pact and the objectives of EU regions and cities for COP27.

Your participation will provide valuable information for the rapporteurs to help them in the preparation of their draft opinions.
The event will take place in hybrid mode, in the CoR premises (JDE70) and via TEAMS (link will be provided at a later stage).

Should you be available, please let us know whether you would like to join us in person or online. In case you cannot participate in the meeting, you are invited to share your views in a position paper related to the topic, and send it before the meeting to enve@cor.europa.eu
