EU-Belong webinar "Addressing Racial Discrimination in Housing: A Multistakeholder Approach" the Assembly of European Regions

The Assembly of European Regions (AER) will hold the inaugural EU-Belong webinar on the 23 November from 10:00-11:00 CET.

The focus of the webinar will be on addressing racial discrimination in access to housing. This insightful session will draw from the experiences of the Municipality of Olot, a medium-sized city in Catalonia.

During this event, Professor Quim Brugué from the University of Girona will share how the Municipality of Olot addressed the causes and impact of racial discrimination practices faced by third-country nationals, facilitated regular exchanges among key stakeholders to collaboratively identify solutions, and envisioned the process to enable the implementation of proposed solutions. Through collaboration with academia experts, real-estate representatives, entities, and affected individuals, the municipality initiated a comprehensive approach to combat discrimination. This inclusive process involved organising meetings and dialogues among key stakeholders, supported by the University, with the aim of identifying potential solutions and present them to the City Council.

This will be the opportunity to gain insights, explore obstacles, enablers, and elements for transferability in addressing racial discrimination in housing.
