The objective of the conference is to show how regional partnerships involving universities and other higher education institutions can drive Smart Specialisation Strategies. It brings together the outcomes of two related projects: Higher Education for Smart Specialisation (HESS), managed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in cooperation with DG Education and Culture, and Thinking Smart, an Erasmus+ funded consortium of European HEIs.
