Organised within the framework of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage by the European Historic Houses Association, the Conference ‘Sustaining sustainable entrepreneurship for private heritage houses’ will demonstrate the important role of individual entrepreneurs in maintaining and managing heritage houses for Europe. Its purposes are to:
1. Promote the pivotal educational role of cultural heritage in developing competence and knowledge.
2. Strengthen the capacity of private owners of heritage houses to sustain and maintain their properties and to equip them with innovative business models.
3. Highlight the importance of education, training and innovation for the maintenance and support of cultural heritage
4. Tackle the issue of transmission of knowledge of cultural heritage to the younger generations and the acquisition of heritage skills by the new generation
5. Understand he issue of participatory governance for cultural heritage among public and private actors.
