ENERGY DAY CONFERENCE

Local and regional perspectives of the Winter Package

Organised by the European Committee of the Regions

Tuesday 20 June 2017, 14.30 – 17.00
European Committee of the Regions
Room JDE 51, Rue Belliard 99-101, 1040 Brussels

Within the EU Sustainable Energy Week framework, this Energy Day conference aims to disseminate the CoR's work on the latest policy issues related to the EC's proposals on energy policy adopted on 30th November 2016 as the "Winter Package" for the energy Union.

The CoR rapporteurs wish to share their ideas and present their draft opinions with a broad range of representatives from relevant organizations and stakeholders, such as the CEMR and ICLEI.

The three rapporteurs, Mr Bruno Hranić on the Energy Union Governance and clean energy; Mr Michiel Rijsberman, on Energy efficiency and buildings and Ms Daiva Matonienė on Renewable energy and electricity market, have joined their voices to call for the involvement of local and regional authorities and the CoR in the future governance, putting "energy efficiency first" and improving the financial and regulatory conditions for sustainable energy projects at the local level.

The CoR rapporteurs will highly welcome the participants' recommendations for further consideration.

The workshop will also allow for an exchange of views, crystallising in concrete policy recommendations which will contribute to the rapporteurs' political work.

Registration is now closed.
