Debate on the Future of Europe with National Associations

A debate on The Future of Europe at the European Committee of the Regions with national associations of local and regional authorities

The European Committee of the Regions, in cooperation with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, is inviting high-level political representatives of EU national associations of local and regional authorities to Brussels to discuss the Future of Europe – from local and regional perspective.

The cooperation with national associations of regions and cities in Europe is one of the keys to nourish this debate and to acknowledge what is the current position of citizens and territories towards Europe. For the first time, members of the CoR and other high-level leaders of EU towns, cities and regions will come together to share their views on some of the main policy areas that will decide the future functioning of the European Union.

Discussions will focus on three areas – an Inclusive Europe, a Sustainable Europe and an Innovative Europe.

All national associations are invited to submit, prior to the event, any documents or policy papers on the future of Europe they might have adopted.

Journalists from national media are invited to follow the event and report on the input of their national representatives.
